Cost Efficient Underground Mining Equipment

The ease of handling, reduced requirement for manpower and equipment and reduced time for installation means an overall cost reduction compared to installation of galvanised steel ladders.
Because Laddertube is the same product regardless of the length, angle or size of raise, the mine can use the product as a stores item and only have to change the lifting equipment when designing different length ladderways.
Safescape Laddertube design means a minimal amount of water, dirt or small rocks entering the travelway, therefore resulting in reduced maintenance. As salt water entering the ladderway is minimal this also eliminates the problem of regularly de-scaling the salt buildup from ladder rungs.
As Safescape Laddertube is made from plastic, it will not rust and degrade over time, therefore eliminating the cost of replacement due to corrosion.
As Safescape Laddertube fits in a 1m diameter raisebore, there are significant savings to be made by reducing the size of the rise mined.
Safescape Laddertube can be sealed at the entry point with a simple removeable entrance curtain. This means from the time that the Laddertube is installed the mine can save on 5-6m^3/s of primary vent flow. In some cases it will also give mines flexibility in the scheduling of permanent vent walls.
