Safescape Blog

Mines are the ideal place for innovation. Whether it be underground or in the treatment plant every mine is different. These differences breed innovation as we apply new ideas to solve our unique problems. Because this is part of our every day lives, at Safescape we believe that miners don't get enough credit for their innovative ways. Our Great Mines Think Alike blog page has been created to give a forum for spreading the innovative systems that we see at different mines in our travels. If you are interested in having news of your innovation included in our blog, please contact us.

Safescape in Western Australia

Safescape in Western Australia
Twelve months after Safescape's first Laddertube installation in Western Australia we have now started manufacturing Laddertube at our factory in Perth.  Last week marked the commissioning of one of the largest rotational moulding machines in Western Australia.  During our first week of commissioning and testing we made 63m of ladders.  This new machine has the capacity to manufacture enough escapeway ladders to meet the needs of the entire Australian mining industry however we will still maintain production out of Victoria for local mines and export out of Port of Melbourne.

The current quarter will see Safescape install escape ladders in Victoria, Western Australia, New South Wales, Queensland, Papua New Guinea and Spain.  It has been a huge year for us, working all over the country, training and further developing our installation systems.  We have two clients in Western Australia currently installing Safescape ladderways using their own personnel on site which frees up their schedule and saves time and money.  The award winning team at Safescape is proud to be involved in the Australian mining industry and we'd like to take this opportunity to thank those mining engineers and emergency response professionals whose approach to innovation has given us the opportunity to grow our business both in Australia and to export the knowledge and skills of Australian miners internationally.
