Recently while taking photos of the top of a raisebore at the Kanowna Belle mine prior to starting a 38m Laddertube installation, new Safescape installer Pod Brereton asked me to hand him his camera.  As Pod took hold of the camera and I pulled my hand away my finger caught the camera strap and it fell down, bounced off the mesh toward the hole and teetered for a moment on the mesh before making the rattle of certain camera death down the rise.

The camera was a $165 Panasonic Lumix, I'm thinking of getting myself one now because a couple of hours later the KB paste crew guys returned with the camera in perfect working order, except for a couple of small scratches you wouldn't know it had been dropped 1m, never mind 38m!
