The director of Safescape, Steve Durkin came up with the idea of Laddertube while working as a mining engineer in Kalgoorlie in 2003. After researching the cost and installation techniques of the various options on the market, Steve decided that the industry was paying too much for a product which was not optimally designed for underground mining.
The idea of a sealed, non-metallic Laddertube was slowly progressed over the following years until 2009 when Steve stopped working for others full time and began developing Laddertube in its current form. In May 2010 the first commercial application of Laddertube was carried out at the Fosterville Gold Mine in Victoria.
Since the first installation at Fosterville, Safescape has installed Laddertube at many locations around Australia and worldwide. The team at Safescape is committed to providing a level of service and support to our customers which far exceeds their expectations.
